Skydance Paramount Plans to Cut Around 2,000 US Jobs – News

Paramount Skydance plans to start large-scale job cuts the week of 27 October, eliminating approximately 2,000 US jobs within a cost-cutting plan valued at $2bn led by new chief executive David Ellison.

The layoffs come after the union between Skydance Media and Paramount Global, finalized in August with a value of $8.4bn.

Additional global layoffs are likely, with the company intending to announce full details in its third-quarter financial update on 10 November.

Prior news suggested that Paramount was looking to cut between 2,000 to 3,000 roles before the start of November.

By December 2024, the organization had about 18,600 permanent and temporary staff along with 3,500 temporary project employees.

The organization has not yet commented on the matter.
